Meet Pilar

Pilar Schiavo

Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo was elected in 2022 to represent the 40th Assembly District, representing the Northwest San Fernando Valley and the Santa Clarita Valley.

Since taking office, Pilar has brought more than 100 million dollars back to our district, including directly to our community through her casework and to support our schools and kids, bring solutions to housing affordability and those struggling in today’s economy, and keep our community safe.

Starting on day one, Pilar took our priorities to Sacramento. And she delivered. In 2025, 100% of Pilar’s bills that made it to the Governor’s Desk were signed into law, including:

  • Bring down everyday costs, like gas and utilities, so families don’t struggle just to get by.
  • Lower healthcare costs, so people can get affordable, quality care when they need it.
  • Protect small businesses from retail theft and predatory lenders.
  • Ensure people have housing and child care they can afford.
  • Support our veterans by connecting them with the benefits they’ve earned.
  • Provide tax relief for veterans and residents impacted by the Chiquita Canyon landfill disaster.
  • Prevent utility companies from overcharging us to bolster their own profits.
  • Stop VA benefit claim sharks from ripping off veterans who charge as much as $20,000 for services that veterans can instead access for free.

Pilar Schiavo has dedicated her career to making a difference for our community.

Before serving in the Assembly, Pilar was a Nurse Advocate and Small Business Owner who helped provide access to healthcare—including abortion and reproductive healthcare—to more than one million people. She also co-founded an organization that has delivered more than 50,000 meals to people in need, helped secure homes for veterans and seniors experiencing homelessness, and kept our communities safe.
